Gen7 Labs builds infrastructure for reliable AI agents. Two products already work and are heading toward their first customer deployments. As our founding engineer you will take outsized ownership of everything between the code and production.
This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role. You will be the second opinion on every consequential decision, and candid disagreement is expected.
- Take working systems into production and own infrastructure, deployment, and operations end to end.
- Design security and reliability controls that fail closed, and prove that they work.
- Build evaluation that can tell real improvement apart from noise.
- Help set the technical bar and shape how we hire the engineers who follow.
- Deep in the data layer. You know Postgres well beyond the ORM: data modeling, migrations on live systems, and how isolation really works.
- An owner. You have shipped and run production systems yourself, without waiting for another team to finish the job.
- Agent-native. You build with coding agents every day and are rigorous about reviewing and testing what they produce.
- Rigorous. You think in failure modes and want evidence, not assurances, that something works.
- Product-minded. You have decided what to build, not only how to build it. Early-stage or founder experience counts.
- A clear writer. You put decisions in writing and explain the tradeoffs behind them.
- Real authority. No layers between you and the decisions that matter.
- Working systems. Both products run today. The work is making them production-grade.
- A greenfield stack. The production foundation is yours to define.
- A small team by design. Every hire shapes the company, starting with you.
- Intro call with the founder (30 minutes).
- Technical conversation about a system you have owned (60 minutes).
- A practical session, async or live.
- Debrief on what you built.
